Faith Formation at Most Holy Trinity

What does the Bible say about faith?

Here are a couple of locations you might want to look up:  Genesis 22:9-12 and John 20:25-29

What does having faith in God look like in your life?  How will it make you a different person?

It’s so simple!  Jesus encountered people of all levels of faith during his lifetime
– from those with little or no faith, like King Herod at the time of Christ’s birth
to those of great faith like the good thief on the cross at the moment of His death.
But the most powerful stories of faith, the one that you and I can easily relate to
   are actually the simplest.
Think about how simple it was for the leper to call out Christ’s name in Mark 1:40
or the man whose daughter had died to turn to Jesus for help in Matthew 9:18.

Christ is ready to answer your prayers as well.
Turn your challenges over to Him every day, as a sign of your faith.
It’s so important  . . . and so simple.

HANDING ON THE FAITH

At Most Holy Trinity we are always looking for people to assist us in handing on the faith.

 What is a catechist?

The word catechist comes from a Greek word that means to echo.
A catechist “echoes” the basics of our faith to the children in his/her class.
A catechist isn’t a master theologian and doesn’t need a degree.
Jesus chose regular everyday people to be his apostles and disciples –
...people just like you and I.

He sent them forth to bring his Good News to the whole world.
A catechist is someone who wants to bring that Good News to the children of Most Holy Trinity.
We offer ongoing support and training to our catechists.
This nurtures their faith and enriches their knowledge of the faith.

Who is a catechist?

You can be.  Just call Suzanne Lieder or Diane Grogan at 324-1034, ext. 730, 731
   to take the first steps.
We start you off gently as an assistant to a “seasoned” teacher.
We really need helpers and the rewards are great!
We find we learn so much from the kids too!
