The Parish Outreach Office wants to offer you HOPE in the year 2009 through all its various programs. "Of all the forces that make for a better world, none is so powerful as hope. If you have hope, you have everything." Our programs offer the parish community a way to respond to those among us who are hurting emotionally, financially, physically, or spiritually. Requests for assistance may involve direct services (food, clothes, furniture, transportation, utility payment), informational referrals to other agencies, (town, county, state and federal programs) or just listening to get someone through a difficult situation. Anyone who lives within the geographical boundaries of MHT, regardless of race, age, religion, or financial situation is eligible to seek assistance. Individuals may contact the Parish Outreach Office directly by phone 324-0134 ext 732 to ask questions or set up an appointment. Our Director of Parish Outreach is Doreen M. Quaranto. Doreen is a Registered Nurse (RN) plus a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and at this time handles all initial assessments and intakes. However, it is all our parish volunteers who make things happen, from giving someone a ride to a hospital, donating furniture, supplying food every Sunday in the Harvest Basket, bringing communion to the homebound or calling programs to get updated materials for the office.
